NBQSA Awards for CodeGen – 2013

For the second time in two months, CodeGen International Private Limited of Sri Lanka, were recognized for their Travel & Tourism software, TravelBox.

The National Best Quality ICT Awards is an annually held event, and arguably the biggest event of its kind held in Sri Lanka. The objectives of the NBQSA competition are described as

  • To provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT
  • To create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products
  • To improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international market place.

Better known as National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) until 2010, the competition is organized by the BCS The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section and was designed to showcase and benchmark Sri Lankan ICT products in the globally competitive arena.

The competition hosted sixteen categories of software ranging from Applications and Infrastructure Tools software to Media and Entertainment Applications Software, and four special awards.

Entrants from more than fifty companies underwent a series of interviews and submitted presentations on their products over a four month period before the winners were announced at a gala evening held at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo.

The ‘Tourism and Hospitality’ Gold award was presented to senior staff of CodeGen for their innovations in ICT development for the support of the tourism and hospitality industry, for their software system TravelBox.

NBQSA Awards for CodeGen 2013TravelBox is a fully comprehensive Enterprise system built in web-services on open standards and developed specifically for the Global Travel & Tourism industry. TravelBox is deployed to clients worldwide in many varying sectors and today it supports many hundreds of thousands daily hits on websites alone, and a significantly greater number of daily transactions which are carried out through client’s offices and call centres.

The evening culminated in the presentation of awards to the ‘Overall’ winners’ category. CodeGen once again were recognised with the overall Bronze award three outstanding
