Unveiling SURF Blended Packaging: A Smarter Way to Match Dynamic Searches with Complete Travel Experiences
Insights | August 4, 2026
Modern travel selling is rarely a simple search-and-book journey.
A traveller may begin with a clear request: flights, hotel, transfers, activities or a tour. But for the Consultant, the real challenge is not just finding something that matches. It is finding the right-fit option, the better-value alternative, the richer upgrade or the package that brings more of the traveller’s holiday together.
That is whereSURF Blended Packaging comes in.
TravelBox AI’s SURF is part of the wider TravelBox ecosystem, supporting B2B Travel Sellers and Consultants as they search, package and sell travel products. Blended Packaging strengthens this experience by combining multiple package models into one smarter selling flow: Dynamic and Pre-built packaging. The goal is simple: help Travel Consultants move from one traveller request to a more relevant set of package options, without forcing them to search each packaging method separately.
Built for Travel Sellers Who Need Better Options, Faster
SURF Blended Packaging is designed for Tour Operators, DMCs, Airline Holiday Operators, Cruise Lines, Travel Agencies and Retail Travel Sellers. These teams often need to compare live, dynamic package options with curated or pre-built package alternatives, while still keeping the traveller’s original request in focus.
The new flow introduces a “Show blended packages” option within the Dynamic Package search criteria UI in SURF B2B. When selected, the blended package flow becomes active, allowing the system to use the traveller’s Dynamic Package criteria as the starting point for finding matched package alternatives.
How Blended Packaging Works
The experience begins with the traveller’s requested itinerary or Dynamic Package search criteria. From there, TravelBox AI derives relevant Package search criteria such as departure date, nights, departure airport and destination.
The system then filters package results based on the product types requested by the user, such as flights, hotels, transfers, cars, tours or general items. To remain eligible, a package must include the requested product types as a minimum, while still being able to include additional products that may enhance the experience.
Once filtered, the package list can be sent to the Recommendation API, where the most relevant options are ranked at the top of the result list. Recommended packages can also include a brief explanation of the match, helping Consultants understand why a package has been matched.
Why It Matters
For Travel Consultants, this means fewer disconnected searches and a clearer path to relevant recommendations. For businesses, it supports faster merchandising, stronger package choice and more opportunities to present best-match, upgrade, promotional or value-added options in one result set.
Instead of asking Consultants to manually compare multiple packaging models, SURF Blended Packaging helps bring those options together inside one sales journey.
What if every package search could open the door to more complete travel experiences?
With SURF Blended Packaging, TravelBox AI continues to evolve the way enterprise travel businesses package smarter, recommend with more confidence and create stronger selling opportunities.
